A Summary of last night’s meeting at SHE building

July 4, 2008 – 5:06 am

Although more than 20 invitations by phone were confirmed, most of them were unable to show up at the meeting. But Sidgee’s referral of 4 new parents were the inspiring start at the meeting. Here are some from my rough notes;

The meeting started with the first concrete decision by many parents who wanted the time to change to 8:30pm.

Which was followed by a chat about the terms we used on disability…

Setting up objectives was pretty quick which consisted of 5 major points.

The talk of including high profile individuals or businessmen as founder members were discussed.

That was when, Mingyu’s part of registration details came up right on time. Steps to register an organization was briefed and there were questions on the best way for this group to be(re: roles of founder member & excecutive committies and its advisory board…) A very informational and useful part of the whole meeting.

Mingyu would present a diagram based choices which would be translated to help participants decide on the best choice for the group.

Ifham and Nelfa were hyper cool and they did almost tried to finish my part of facilitation of allocating tasks for the next meeting. For that part, we agreed;

Shafeega was eager to help with account opening in the future

Sidqee, Fareeqa and Ameena volunteered for making calls.

H.Nizam volunteered to help with finding the venue for our next meeting.

We also finalized a flexible date for Mingyu which was the next thursday 10th which will be confirmed today or 13th Sunday as a second date.

Ifham and Nelfa had some sort of a kick which was actually good for me because I had the least time to co-facilitate. Shifaza’s translating skills were great too.

Contributions;

Handicap International: Paying for the Venue/Accessories n stuff

Ifham/Nelfa/Yasiph and Sidqee: Making calls

MingYu: For facilitation training and information on Registration of the Association.

If you would like to contribute in anyway, please leave a note or a comment. Thank you.
